Lee is a Corporate & Commercial Partner of EGP. His practice focuses on a wide spectrum of legal areas, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, joint development, telecommunications, technology, and general corporate and commercial laws.

Lee's legal journey began as an in-house legal consultant for one of the largest department store and supermarket operators, where he gained invaluable insights and experience.

  • Advised on the proposed acquisition of a majority equity stake in a particleboard or chipboard industry company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia and the resulting mandatory offer to the remaining shareholders of the target company.

  • Advised various local ventures seeking alternative capital-raising avenues. This involved exploring innovative solutions such as crowdfunding, franchise & licensing, joint venture, peer-to-peer lending and interest scheme arrangements to meet their financial objectives.

  • Played a pivotal role in assisting local startups in establishing their operations. He meticulously drafted and reviewed essential documents including privacy notices, terms of service, master software licenses, and service agreements, ensuring that clients are legally well-prepared for their ventures.

  • Advised on restructuring of a development agreement and agreement to lease. This was a result of the internal reorganization process of one of Malaysia's prominent conglomerates, where he demonstrated his adeptness at legal intricacies.

  • Advised a foreign state-controlled company in its collaboration with a local player to develop a 5G telecommunications network and infrastructure in Malaysia.

  • Advised local telecommunications infrastructure services companies on various proposed acquisitions of telecommunications towers in Malaysia.

  • Advised on a series of sale and purchase agreements involving multiple parcels of land under a master land title. Additionally, he drafted the hotel management agreement with one of the purchasers to manage the operation of the hotel, convention hall, and other commercial properties to be developed by the vendor.
